Alan Pither Ltd is an approved assessment centre for ABBE at both Level 3 and Level 4 in Non Domestic Energy Assessment (NDEA).
The Level 3 NDEA Certificate course is a 4 day training course with an exam on a fifth day about a month after the course. This is the qualification required for anyone wanting to issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) on simple existing non domestic buildings. The course is suitable for those with some experience of surveying, maintaining or refurbishing existing dwellings or who are already qualified as Domestic Energy Assessors. Additional training can be arranged for those with less experience.
Candidates also need to prepare a portfolio of evidence for assessment, including at least 3 energy surveys covering a range of building types.
The Level 4 NDEA Diploma course is usually run over 2 days with an exam about a month later. This provides the qualification required for anyone wanting to issue EPCs on more complex existing non domestic buildings and new build non domestic buildings. It is suitable for those already holding the Level 3 Certificate in Non Domestic Energy Assessment. Again, a portfolio of evidence is also required to complete the qualification.
