Alan Pither Ltd can offer a range of training courses designed to provide an understanding of SAP. Courses are usually run in-house and customised to meet individual client’s specific requirements.
- Introduction to SAP for new homes can be provided in a one day or half day format. It offers an introduction to the SAP energy rating system and how it is used to demonstrate compliance with Part L1A of the Building Regulations. It is suitable for those who need an understanding of SAP but who do not need to be qualified as On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors, e.g. Building Control officers, Code for Sustainable Homes assessors.
- Introduction to Reduced Data SAP (RdSAP) for existing homes is also available in either a one day or half day version. It offers an introduction to the RdSAP energy rating system and how it can be used to assess affordable warmth and the ‘excess cold’ criteria of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). It is suitable for Environmental Health officers and landlords.
- RdSAP surveyor is a two day course for those seeking to collect RdSAP data in association with housing stock condition surveys and to update housing stock databases. It is aimed at surveyors and social housing landlords (note that there are restrictions on how data collected can be used for EPCs). Participants can subsequently upgrade to the Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment at a reduced cost.
In-house courses can be arranged anywhere for a minimum of 6 people if an organisation has training facilities available.
